Angel Plaza, 90, of Ramsey, NJ, passed away on March 23, 2024. Angel was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
Angel was born on October 3, 1933 to Nicolas and Mercedes Plaza in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico.
In 1954, Angel joined the United States Army and served in Korea. While in the army, he created lifelong memories that he loved recalling to his loved ones. Upon his return to the United States in 1955, Angel met the love of his life, Carmen, and they were married in 1958. Angel and Carmen went on to have two children, Marisol and Angel Jr. Angel lived his life for his family, whether they were blood or not. He didn’t let a day go by without sharing all the love he had to give and was a true example of showing unconditional love.
Angel enjoyed spending his time cheering on his beloved New York Mets with an ice cold Corona in his hand, watching wrestling, laughing hysterically at reruns of The Honeymooners and Everybody Loves Raymond, and listening to Aguinaldo music. Above all else, Angel’s immense and deep love for his family was unlike any other. He adored every minute he spent with his children, grandchildren and great granddaughter, and his wonderful legacy will carry on through them.
Angel was predeceased by his father Nicolas, his mother Mercedes, and his grandson Alexander. He is survived by his wife Carmen, his daughter Marisol and John Mojica, grandchildren Melissa and Christopher Natale and Matthew and Sarah Mojica; his son Angel and Edith Plaza, granddaughter Annelyse and Christopher Nichols, and great granddaughter Alex Nichols.
Services will be held at Vander Plaat Funeral Home on March 26, 2024 at 3pm.
In lieu of flowers, the Plaza and Mojica family kindly request donations be made to the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research in Angel’s honor.
