Gerard “Jerry” Joseph Rolling, age 79, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 23, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Queens, NY and had been a resident of Ridgewood for the past 40 years. Jerry was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel RC Church, Ridgewood, NJ. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Manhattan College in 1965. He served with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers during the Vietnam War from 1965 - 1967. His civil engineering career spanned more than 50 years and includes being a founding partner of Crew Engineers in Butler, NJ.
Jerry was a great husband, father, grandfather and friend who enjoyed spending time with his family and travelling. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Virginia Rolling of Ridgewood, his three daughters; Jeanne Marie Rolling, Anne Rolling, Claire Nacion, and her husband Stephen Nacion, and his granddaughter, Liliana. Jerry is also survived by his two sisters; Marion Vaeth and Claire Tinnelly, his two brothers-in-law; Anthony LoSecco and John LoSecco and his wife Cheryl, as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday, March 30, 2023, from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and 7:00 – 9:00 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, (www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff, NJ. Prayers will begin at 9:00 AM on Friday, March 31, 2023, at Vander Plaat Funeral Home, with a Funeral Mass beginning at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel RC Church, 1 Passaic Street, Ridgewood, NJ 07450. The interment will follow at Ascension Cemetery, Airmont, NY.
