Alan Zampieri of Franklin Lakes, NJ, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2023. He was 77.
A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Alan is survived by his wife Maria (Lo Calzo); sons Thomas and his wife Cristina, Joseph and his wife Colleen, and Steven and his wife Alaina; as well as grandchildren Domenic, Cristina, and Leo Alan. He was predeceased by his parents Giuglio and Joan (Nicoletti), and his brother Robert.
Born in Union City, NJ, Alan grew up working at the Zampieri Bros. Bakery in Greenwich Village before attending Fordham University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. He later opened Bi-State Pharmacy in Old Tappan, NJ, where he served the community for 33 years before happily retiring in 2010.
In retirement, Alan was able to spend more time with his family and his other passions: travel, gardening, and a good Italian meal with friends. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, optimism, and finding joy in the successes of those around him.
A viewing will be held Wednesday, January 25th from 4-8pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff, NJ) (www.vpfh.com). A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00am at St. Elizabeth of Hungary (700 Wyckoff Ave., Wyckoff, NJ) on Thursday, January 26th.
