Alfeo Feit passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 9, in the arms of his loving wife and eldest daughter.
At the age of 89, Alfeo had lived a full life. Al was born in Manhattan, NY, on July 20, 1931. He was the second son of two proud Italian immigrants, Giacomo and Carmela. He grew up in the Projects in NYC, where he met his future wife Josephine when he was 18. After serving as an Army chef in the Korean war, Alfeo graduated from NYU with his bachelor’s degree in business. Al and Jo were married in Queens, NY, on June 1, 1957, and moved to Bergenfield NJ several years later to raise a family.
Al was a devoted family man, and spent his career in retail working tirelessly to provide for his wife and two daughters. Al was somewhat of an outdoorsman, and in his younger years, went water skiing on Lake George, hiking up Buck Mountain, and swimming in Hadlock Pond. His quiet time was spent reading, devouring Stephen King and other suspense novels. He loved playing Poker and Bridge, and opening his home to those he cared about. As an Italian, meal time was especially important, and Al relished sharing good food and wine with his family, both blood and chosen. He was a caring father and grandfather, creating fond memories berry picking and jam making with his children and grandchildren. In his retirement, he spent his summers teaching his grandchildren how to fish and play mini golf, and his winters living it up in Florida with Jo and their friends.
Al is remembered by his loving wife, Josephine; his daughters and son-in-laws, Deborah and Rob, and Jessica and Antonio; his 5 grandchildren, Alex, Cameron, Elizabeth, Téa, and Christopher; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. He is preceded by his brother John, and his parents, Giacomo and Carmela (Secco) Feit.
The celebration of his life will be on Thursday, May 13 at 11:15am, and the livestream can be viewed here: https://www.churchofpresentation.org/funeral-ministry/
