Alma M. Ruesch

Alma M. Ruesch passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at the age of 80. Born in Leonia, she graduated from Leonia High School and obtained her Bachelor’s Degree from Grove City College in Grove City, PA. Before retiring, Alma was a Spanish teacher at Ramapo High School for 35 years. She enjoyed playing golf, vacationing at the Jersey shore, and volunteered at Englewood Hospital in the Administration Dept. and at Barnegat lighthouse. Alma is survived by her brother Richard W. Ruesch, his wife Leonora; four nieces: Lynn (Randy) Freeman, Karyn (Chris) Winkel, Ann (Darren) Whitfield, Audrey (Scott) Burris; two nephews, William (Katie) Ruesch, Donald (Jen) Ruesch and countless good friends. Alma is predeceased by her parents, William and Alma Ruesch, two brothers, William and Howard  Ruesch, her sister in law Mildred Ruesch and nephew Jon Ruesch. She will be missed my many. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2020 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. with the funeral service commencing at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx, NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Alma’s memory may be made to Oasis - A Haven for Women and Children, 59 Mill Street, Paterson, NJ  07501. Arrangements are by the Vander Plaat Funeral Home of Wyckoff.
