Alyssa Belisonzi, 39, of Wyckoff, passed away on January 7, 2026. Born to Robert and Deidre Belisonzi, Aly was raised in Franklin Lakes, attended local schools, and graduated from Indian Hills in Oakland, NJ.
Aly’s life was one of resilience and strength. As a child, she was diagnosed with a rare blood disease, Fanconi anemia. It took a physical and emotional toll, yet Aly continued to show determination and heart in all she did. She built a career as a Registered Medical Assistant. She was often praised for her work ethic and for leaning into her superpower—her ability to connect with people.
Aly didn’t just enter a room; she filled it. Her personality, presence, and sense of humor made her someone you could meet once and yet somehow never forget. She had a gift of making everyone feel like they mattered, whether you were her family, a friend, or someone she had just met. She loved talking to people, and people loved talking to her.
She loved watching Broadway musicals, especially Rent and West Side Story, and her Bichon Frise, Tizzy, but who Aly loved most of all was her son, Thomas “Tommy” Tinari. She adored him. Tommy made her laugh, smile, and beam with pride. He was her miracle, put here for a reason, and loved beyond measure. Jonathan Tinari described Tommy as Aly's greatest gift to him.
Aly is survived by her loving son, Thomas Tinari; his father, Jonathan Tinari; her mother, Deidre Belisonzi; her partner, Richard Abate; brother Robert Belisonzi, his fiancée Jennifer Mesce, children Lily and Will; sister Kerri, her husband Gregory Pace; sister Jenna, her husband Tyler Papaz, children Stella, Bode, and Lola; aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She is predeceased by her father, Robert Belisonzi; her grandparents, Robert and Aileen Belisonzi, and Claire and Almerindo Portfolio.
A memorial celebration of Aly’s life will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026, from 1- 4 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff, NJ (www.vpfh.com).
In lieu of flowers, donations in Aly’s name can be made to the Fanconi Cancer Foundation.
