Andrew Andre, Jr. passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, May 21, 2021 at the age of 92. Born in Hawthorne, NJ he was a longtime resident of Waldwick where he was involved in the baseball association, a Boy Scout leader, a member of the VFW and the American Legion. Andrew proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired from the Local #325 United Brotherhood of Carpenters & Joiners in Paterson. He also worked for C. Raimondo & Sons and Minnema Builders, which specialized in building churches, for many years. Andrew was an avid gardener, enjoyed travelling, was an avid N.Y. Mets and N.Y. Jets fan and volunteered for Meals on Wheels. He was the ultimate gentleman who will be missed by many. Andrew was the loving and devoted husband to Shirlie whom he was married to for 70 years; two sons Neil A., his wife Denise, Gordon T., his wife Karen, and five grandchildren Breandan, Rachel (Christopher), Alissa, Jessica and Kimberly. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff, NJ. Interment will follow in Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Mem. Cem. in Wrightstown.
