Anthony J. Cassino

Anthony J. Cassino, age 84 of Franklin Lakes, died unexpectedly on Monday, March 20, 2023.  He was born in Brooklyn, NY and had been a longtime resident of Franklin Lakes, NJ.  Anthony was a parishioner of Most Blessed Sacrament RC Church, Franklin Lakes, NJ.  Anthony spent his working career in finance and retired as a stock trader and the Founder of The Briarly Fund in Franklin Lakes.

Anthony is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Suzanne C. Cassino, his five children: Laura Norman and her husband Jeffrey, Kathryn McHugh and her husband Daniel, Elizabeth Cassino, Diane Parks and her husband Erik and Michael Cassino.  Also surviving are Anthony’s eight grandchildren, Alexander, Emma, Julia, Brendan, Luke, Olivia, Hannah and William, who were the highlight of his life.  Anthony was predeceased by an infant son, Anthony J. Cassino, Jr. in 1969, his parents, Carmine and Nunziata Cassino and his sister, Carmela Scammacca.  Anthony is also survived by his life-long friend, Joseph Agresto, who was a brother to him.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home,  www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ 07481. 

A  Funeral Mass celebrating Anthony’s life will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at 10:00 AM at St. Elizabeth RC Church, 700 Wyckoff Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ 07481. The interment will follow at Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah, NJ.
