Beatrice Fink, known to all as Bea, died peacefully on June 17, 2021. She will be deeply missed by her three children – Carol Fink, Corinne Giaccone and Robert Fink; their spouses – Michael Giaccone and Heidi Fink; her grandchildren – Kaitlyn, Nicole, Kevin, Billy, Tom and Dan; and her many other relatives and friends. Bea was born in New York City to Edward and Delia and was raised in Manhattan with her sister Julia and brother Edward. It was there that she met her future husband, Martin. After he returned from U.S. Army service in World War II, they married, raised three children in Queens, and remained happily together for 45 years until Martin’s passing in 1994.Bea graduated from Hunter College in New York City and began a mid-life career as a social worker for Catholic Charities in Queens. She faithfully served the residents of Catherine Sheridan Houses in Astoria for 20 years. For her good work during this time, she was inducted as an affiliate into The Daughters of Charity and was recognized by the Diocese of Brooklyn and Queens for her commitment to their mission of building a caring community. In 2009, Bea moved to the Longview Assisted Living residence of the Christian Health in Wyckoff, NJ then in 2020 to Christian Health’s Heritage Manor nursing home. In these final years of her life, she was blessed with and grateful for the many friends she had among the residents and staff – and so many others. A funeral mass for Bea will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 700 Wyckoff Ave., Wyckoff which will be live streamed http://saintelizabeths.org/live-streaming
Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus. In lieu of flowers contributions in Bea’s memory may be made to Christian Health, Development Office, 301 Sicomac Ave., Wyckoff, NJ 07481. Arrangements are by the Vander Plaat Funeral Home of Wyckoff (vpfh.com)
