Bob Lynch

Bob Lynch, age 77, of Franklin Lakes, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2026, with his loving family by his side. Bob was born on March 15, 1949, to Aloysius and Jane Lynch of Paterson, New Jersey.

Bob proudly served in the United States Navy. He was stationed in Cuba aboard the USS Guam and served during the Vietnam War and the Cuban Missile Crisis, a period he carried with quiet pride throughout his life as a proud patriot.

Irish to the core, he was devoted to the people he loved. Fiercely loyal and deeply protective of his beloved family and lifelong friends, he was the person others could always count on. He faced life’s challenges with unwavering determination, a sharp wit, and a sense of humor that could brighten even the most difficult days. His deep dimples reflected the warmth of his smile, one that made everyone feel instantly at ease.

Bob loved music (playing it loudly and on repeat when he really liked a song), and never passed up a chance to dance, sing “Teenager in Love”, and share a hearty laugh with family and friends. 

Some of his happiest memories were made in the places he loved most. As a child, he cherished summers spent in Lake George, where he carried on a tradition with his grandchildren when they were growing up.  Later in life, he and his beloved wife, Gail, returned year after year to Key West, a place that became their home away from home for more than two decades. Those trips were filled with sunshine, music, laughter, and the countless memories they created together.

He is survived by the people who loved him most and who now gather to celebrate his life: his devoted wife of 53 years, Gail; his adoring daughter, Jamie LaRusso, and her fiancé, Stephen Zuccato; and his cherished grandchildren, Aidan, Connor, and Delaney LaRusso. His family was the center of his world, and his love for them was constant, fierce, and unconditional.

In 2011, he was given the extraordinary gift of life when his wife, Gail, selflessly donated her kidney to him—an act of deep love and devotion that gave them many more years together. Those extra years meant everything to all of us. We never took that time for granted; it was a true gift to everyone who loved him and couldn’t imagine life without him in it.

No matter what obstacles came his way, he remained remarkably positive, meeting each challenge with resilience, grace, and an unshakable belief that there was always a way forward. He did everything his way—he was the leader of the band and the leader of our pack. His strength, kindness, humor, and unconditional love leave a legacy that will live on in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know him.  Goodnight, sweetheart, well it’s time to go xo.
