It is with broken hearts that we share the passing of Brigette Pospisil Bogart on December 27, 2024 at the age of 49.
Brigette is survived by her loving parents Thomas and Arlene Pospisil; Brother, Brad Pospisil; Daughters, Samantha, Maddison Bogart and Ashleigh Bogart; dogs, Chewy and Crash Davis. She was preceded in death by her brother Ryan Pospisil in 2021.
A 1993 Graduate of Pascack Valley High School, Brigette spent her childhood and teen years in River Vale, NJ. Always an athlete, she shined on her high school women's basketball team.
Brigette attended North Carolina State University where she studied Architecture and met her lifelong best friends, Keri Towery Petersen and Stephanie Webb Maynard. Brigette enjoyed college life working hard, cheering on the Wolfpack, attending concerts, making deep friendships and laughing, so much laughing. Brigette continued her education at the University of Pennsylvania where she earned her Master of City and Regional Planning in 2000. Urban planning became Brigette's professional calling and passion.
Forever a true Jersey Girl, Brigette returned home after her education. She worked representing several local municipalities as well as private clients for over 20 years. Brigette was incredibly determined and hard working. In 2012 she realized she could better serve her clients by going out on her own and she established Brigette Bogart LLC Planning and Design Professionals. Brigette's hand in planning and design will be seen throughout New Jersey for decades to come.
Wyckoff is where Brigette raised her family. Always an overachiever, it was no surprise when she found out she was expecting twins. A few years after Sammy and Madison were born, Ashleigh arrived and completed the family. Brigette loved being a mother. There was nothing better to her than coaching and watching Samatha and Madison in basketball and softball. She was so proud of their determination and enjoyed their shared love of athletics. Even school projects would involve the Jeep and basketball trick shots. Brigette also enjoyed sharing Ashleigh's love of creativity and party planning, always showing off Ashleigh's elaborate birthday party concepts and creative school projects. She liked quieter activities with the girls as well, such as wearing scrubs to tune into Grey's Anatomy, apple picking and baking too many pies, and relaxing at the beach. In 2018 she took her girls on an epic trip to Paris and London where they created lifelong memories.
Brigette loved staying busy. When she wasn't working, you could find her cheering on the NY Giants, NJ Devils or NC State Wolfpack. She especially enjoyed a Wolfpack win over her dad's Clemson Tigers. She loved running and a highlight was completing the New York Marathon. Whether on the golf course, at her "happy place" at the shore, or traveling, Brigitte was always surrounded by friends and family. She loved having dirt under her nails from planting and reworking landscaping at her home and everyone else's home too. She could be heard quoting lines from the movie Bull Durham and dancing her heart out to The Dave Matthews Band, Tom Petty and Prince. She has always remained close to her parents and brother, making sure birthdays, anniversaries and holidays were family affairs to be celebrated.
Brigette will be remembered for the years she spent as a devoted mother. She will be remembered as a loving and supportive daughter and sister. Her friends will remember her enthusiasm for life and fun and her caring nature. Her light, laughter and love will be missed forever by all who were lucky enough to know her.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 3, 4:00-7:00 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff. Funeral mass will be Saturday, January 4, 9:45 AM at St. Elizabeth’s RC Church, 700 Wyckoff Avenue, Wyckoff. Interment will follow at East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton, NJ.
