Carol Canariato was born in Queens, NY. She attended classes at Queens College and went on to work at the FAA and ITT as an Executive Secretary until she met the love of her life Sal Canariato. They married in 1966 and transferred briefly to the midwest where Carol worked at 3M Corporation as an Executive Secretary on an Aerospace project. Upon returning to New York, Carol and Sal started raising a family, residing in NJ where they brought up their children. Carol was part of a family computer business where for 16 years she served as the Chief Financial Officer in charge of all administrative and financial duties.
Beyond her professional life, Carol was devoted to her faith and the cause of helping others in need. She spent many years volunteering for Meals on Wheels, Mentoring Moms, and Dress for Success. At Church of the Presentation, she was responsible for creating the Celiac Communion program where parishioners could receive a gluten free host.
Carol is survived by her loving husband of 56 years and her three children Joseph, James and Christine, her daughter-in-laws Stephanie and Stacie, her grandchildren Kaiden, Chase, Niccolo, Cruz and JoJo, and her granddogs Rookie, Roddy, and Rosie.
Described by some as “one of the sweetest humans I have ever met,” she will be greatly missed.
