Tomasi, Carol Ann (née Koningswood), age 82, of Hawthorne, NJ, passed away on Friday, February 6, 2026.
Born in Paterson and raised in Wyckoff before settling in Hawthorne, Carol graduated from Hawthorne High School and continued her education at Rider College. Carol met the love of her life at a dance, and the two married on March 25, 1967. After a short stay in Fair Lawn, they moved to Hawthorne, where she lived for the remainder of her life.
Carol worked for many years as a Social Worker for the Passaic County Board of Social Services. She was a devoted member of West Side Presbyterian Church in Ridgewood, NJ, where she served as a Deacon. Deeply involved in her community, Carol also served as PTO President for many years and was active in Scouting as a Den Mother and Committee Chairperson.
Carol was the beloved wife of the late Peter George Tomasi. She was the loving mother of Peter George Tomasi III of Hawthorne and John Stephen Tomasi and his wife, Jessica (née Wittner) Tomasi, of North Haledon. She was the cherished grandmother of Evan John Tomasi, Lorelai Grace Tomasi, and Cassidy Emmanuelle Tomasi. Carol was the daughter of the late John Koningswood and the late Edna Koningswood (née Freeman), and the dear sister of John (Jack) Koningswood and his wife, Rita Pinelli.
She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Friends may visit with the family at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff (www.vpfh.com), on Thursday, February 12, 2026, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at West Side Presbyterian Church, 6 S. Monroe Street, Ridgewood. The service will also be available via livestream at https://westside.org/livestream/ for those wishing to attend virtually. Interment will follow at Laurel Grove Cemetery at 295 Totowa Avenue in Totowa, NJ.
