Catherine A. Courtwright

Catherine A. Courtwright of Mahwah NJ peacefully passed away on Sunday, September 5th 2021at the age of 96.  Catherine was born in Pittsburgh PA, the daughter of Frank and Irene.  She graduated from Perry High School in 1942 and went on to marry Charles L. Courtwright who predeceased her in 2013.  She and Charles spent the next 68 years together and had four children who were raised in Pittsburgh and New Jersey.  Catherine was a devout Catholic who volunteered in her children’s’ schools and at the local hospital.  She retired with Charles to Vermont where she spent time with her grandchildren and enjoyed the outdoors.  She always made time in her day to walk, it was her passion.  

Catherine is survived by her two sons Robert Courtwright, his wife Lori; William Courtwright, his wife Dianne; two daughters Kathleen Delman, her husband Scott; Suzanne Sneed and her husband David. She adored all of her grandchildren: Lenay Courtwright, her husband Jon Tropea, Seth Courtwright, his wife Robin Courtwright, Ethan Courtwright , his wife Lindsey Hamill-Courtwright, Brendan Courtwright, Julian Payraudeau, his wife Jenevieve Payraudeau, Corey and Chelsea Payraudeau, Bethany Delman, her husband Matthew Roon, Kayla Tomlin, her husband Sebastian Tomlin, Jason Sneed, his wife Melissa Sneed, Kathryn Reichert, her husband David Reichert, Kristin Tocket, her husband Mark Tocket, Connor, Trevor,  Teresa and Kylie Courtwright. She is also survived by her many beloved great-grandchildren:  Ella and Lyla Tropea, Reese and Sage Courtwright, Sylas Payraudeau, Theo Roon, Mia Tomlin, Alexa and Kylie Sneed, Bennett and Zoe Reichert.

Catherine’s family would like to thank the staff and nurses of Brandywine Living in Mahwah that cared and comforted her during her last years.  The family will be having a private ceremony in Vermont and in lieu of flowers donations can be made to Covenant House, 550 10th Ave., New York, NY 10018, Catherine’s favorite charity.
