Catherine Carol (Coyle) Peterson

Catherine Carol Peterson (nee Coyle) passed away on April 24, 2025 at the age of 81. Born in Kearny NJ.

Carol was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She spent nearly every summer for over 45 years at Windy Acres Campground in Newton NJ with family and friends. Carol enjoyed meeting her friends at bingo and winning the occasional jackpot! Most of all Carol enjoyed moments with her 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Carol is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Arnold Peterson who cared for her with much love and dedication. She also leaves her devoted daughters, Deborah Stout (David) and Pamela Lurie (Kenny), her Sister Joan Smith, her beautiful grandchildren, Shannon Heigel, Jennifer Brown, Hannah Stout, Nicholas Sanders, Brianna Mizhquiri, Billy Lurie, and Celeste Lurie. Carol was a loving great grandmother to Ava, Ezra, Ira, Dexter, Archer, Gabby, Aire, Bishop, Luna, Scarlet and Atticus and a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. Samantha, her loving K-9 companion was by her side for the past six years.

Carol was predeceased by her father, Joseph A. Coyle, mother, Catherine M. “Kay” Coyle, brother Joseph Coyle, and brother James Coyle.

The Peterson family will receive friends on Sunday, April 27, 2025, 3:00 until 7:00 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home 257 Godwin Avenue Wyckoff.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers; memorial contributions may be made in Carol's name to the American Cancer Society
