Charles “Chip” D. Heath, Jr., age 60, of Ho-Ho-Kus, passed away on Thursday, May 6, 2021 surrounded by his family. Chip was born in Mt. Kisco, NY and lived in Thornwood, NY before moving to Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ 30 years ago.
A graduate of Union College, Chip was a proud member of the Theta Delta Chi fraternity where he met some of his closest friends. After many years in a corporate office, Chip created DC Sports in 1993 where he made many relationships with local teams and coaches. His passion was coaching high school basketball.
Chip’s grandfather built a cabin in the 1930’s on a small lake in the Catskill Mountains, where Chip enjoyed growing up and spending the summer there with his family. He later got to share those summer vacations and enjoy the lake with his wife and daughters.
He is survived by his loving wife of almost 30 years, Diane, and his 4 daughters Stephanie (Kevin), Stacie, Kimberly and Melissa, and his beloved “grand-dog” Rex. Chip was predeceased by his parents Charles Sr. and Marjorie, along with his sister LouAnn.
The family will receive friends from 12 to 2:30 pm on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ. A Funeral Service will follow at 2:30 pm.
Cremation will be private.
