Cheryl Brooks Obituary

Cheryl R. Brooks, 79, of Midland Park passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 29, 2024. Born in Holyoke, MA, and raised in Paramus NJ, she lived in Montvale for 48 years before moving to Midland Park 3 years ago.

Cheryl is survived by her loving husband Kenneth; devoted children Patrick Brooks and his wife Amy, and Jennifer Ragucci and her husband Michael; adoring grandchildren Andrew, Jenna, Katie, and Megan; brother Peter and his wife Barbara; sister Meredith Thompson and her husband Tom; siblings-in-law Steven and Monique Brooks, and Sue and Robert Ehlers; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Ruth, in-laws Kenneth and Helen Brooks, and nephew Jeffery Becker.

Cheryl loved sitting in the sunshine at the beach or pool. An avid reader, she was always ready to talk about the latest book she was reading. Known as Chez to those who loved her most, she was known to break out in a song at any given moment. Cheryl loved spending time with her husband and family and cherished those moments the most.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 4:00pm, with a memorial service at 3:30pm, on Saturday, October 5 at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com

In lieu of flowers, donations in Cheryl’s memory can be made to the Midland Park Volunteer Ambulance Corps or The Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
