Chester B. Kopec

Kopec, Chester age 93 of Waldwick died Wednesday, May 17, 2023.  Born in Garfield, he lived in Waldwick for 67 years.  Chester served in the US Airforce from 1951 until 1955.  Before his retirement he worked in the service department of PSE&G in Ridgewood, NJ.  He was a parishioner of St. Luke’s R.C. Church, Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ, and always enjoyed fishing with his daughters and friends.

Surviving are his daughters, Judith Dellapietro of Norwood, Cynthia Kopec of Manahawkin and Nancy and her husband John Guy of Fair Lawn.  Also surviving are his 8 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.  He was predeceased by his wife, Ella E. Kopec and his grandson, Terence Patrick Guy.  Chester’s family would also like to acknowledge and thank Valley Hospice and Elizabeth, his caretaker over the past year and a half.

Visiting will be 5:00 to 8:00pm on Friday at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff, NJ.  Funeral Mass is 8:30am on Saturday at Church of the Nativity, 315 Prospect Street, Midland Park, NJ 07432.  Interment will follow at the George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus, NJ.
