Christine Grogan, 60, of Wyckoff, passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2023 surrounded by her family. Born in Copiague, NY she lived in Oakdale, NY before moving to Wyckoff about 25 years ago.
She began her career as a special education teacher on Long Island before moving to NJ and becoming the Director of the Epic School in Paramus and then, a consultant for the Learners’ Compass in Tenafly. Christine devoted her entire life to working with the Autism Community.
Christine is survived by her loving husband, Chris, and her two adoring children, Julia and Jack. Her greatest joy was in being a mother – Jack and Julia were her passion and delight. She loved being their mom and was so very proud of them. Whether hanging out on the lake, planning surprise birthday outings, or enjoying dinners at home - Christine was always at her happiest with her kids. Christine is also survived her parents, Bill and Linda Elia, her brother Bill Elia, nephew Bill, niece Danielle, her brother-in-law Scott Grogan and Jennifer, niece Abigail, her mother-in-law Janice, and her dogs Maddie and Bella.
Visiting hours are 4 – 7 on Friday, January 5 at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ.
A Funeral Service will be held 11:00am on Saturday, January 6 at the Wyckoff Reformed Church, 580 Wyckoff Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ. Cremation will be private.
