Christopher Robert Cusumano, 49, of Brooklyn, New York, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, while visiting family in Cary, North Carolina. He traveled to spend time with his mother and was looking forward to continuing his journey to Charleston, South Carolina. This trip was cut short while doing what he enjoyed most—planning time with family and relaxing outdoors by the fire.
Christopher was the son of Thomas and Jo-Anne Cusumano raised in Maspeth, New York, survived by his younger sister and three older brothers. He attended Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal School and Archbishop Molloy High School. He later pursued his passion for property management, earning certifications in building management, fire prevention for high-rise buildings, high-rise boiler systems, cooling towers, and integrated heating and cooling systems.
Christopher built a successful career in property management, beginning with downtown Manhattan condominiums and progressing to prominent high-rise buildings. His work included managing well-known Manhattan properties such as The ICON on 48th Street and developments in Hudson Yards. Most recently, he managed properties along the Brooklyn waterfront.
He had a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures. Christopher enjoyed fishing, grilling over charcoal, and spending evenings around a backyard fire pit. He was also passionate about coin collecting, antiques, and precious metals. Above all, he was a sentimental person who cherished his family and the memories they shared.
Christopher had no children but found great joy in spending holidays and special occasions with his family, including his niece and eight nephews, all of whom he loved dearly.
He will be remembered for his dedication to his work, his love of family, and the quiet moments he treasured with those closest to him.
Funeral services were private for the immediate family and a celebration of life will follow at a later date.
