Constance M Gatsonis

Constance M. Gatsonis, age 72, peacefully left this world February 4, 2021 surrounded by her family. Connie was born May 30,1948 in Mobile, Alabama to Olga and Chris Mellides. She married the love of her life, Plato Gatsonis, in January of 1968 who preceded her in death in 2003. 

Connie had many joys in her life, foremost her family. She was a dedicated mother to her two sons, Gregory and Theodore and their families. Gregory married Stacey Bonkowski. They have three children, Kayla, Alexander, and Amanda. Connie's younger son, Theodore has two sons Nicholas and Lucas, and his girlfriend Joanne Brown. Connie touched each member of her family with love and devotion, spending as much time as she could with them.

Connie was a spiritual person. As a dedicated member of the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, her faith was an essential aspect of her life. She was also a member of the Daughters of Penelope and the Kastorian Omonia Society. Constance did her best to attend church every Sunday even if it was via a livestream due to the pandemic. 

Connie most enjoyed spending time with her family at her house in Florida. She had many great times with her friends and family on the beach. Especially times when all of the grandchildren were there with her, making memories sure to last a lifetime.

Please join us in celebrating her life Monday February 8, 2021 from 4-8pm at Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave, Wyckoff, NJ 07481, www.vpfh.com. The Trisagion service will begin at 7:30pm. A funeral service will be held at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 467 Grandview Ave, Wyckoff starting at 10am on Tuesday February 9, 2021, and will be livestreamed at www.vpfh-fb.com.
