Corinne Sara Verduin passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 in Wyckoff, New Jersey. She was born in Paterson, New Jersey on July 5, 1924, living an impressive 100 years at the time of her passing. Corinne lived in New Jersey her entire life. She grew up in Prospect Park and after marrying Peter Gilbert Verduin, she moved to Wyckoff where she raised her three sons. Corinne was highly active in her church and community. She attended Grace United Methodist Church in Wyckoff and later Archer United Methodist Church in Allendale. She worked as a bookkeeper at Domesticare in Midland Park then at The Cookie Man Company in Franklin Lakes until her retirement.
Corinne made a positive impact on many lives. She had boundless energy and was generous with her time and kindness to many friends. She was also a loving grandmother to four grandchildren and one great grandson. She was a lifelong learner and a voracious reader. Most evenings she could be found with a book in her hand. She also loved to travel and had adventures in both the US and Europe with her husband and, after he passed, with her children and friends. Upon retirement, she volunteered her time and energy to several charities that were important to her including The Valley Hospital Auxiliary, The Depot, Children’s Aid and Family Services and the Women’s Club of Wyckoff.
Corinne is survived by her three sons and their families. Glenn Verduin, Douglas Verduin and his wife Patricia Verduin, Craig Verduin and his wife Nancy Verduin. Her grandchildren are Lauren Covais and her husband Joseph Covais, Natalie Verduin, Chelsea Verduin and Kyle Verduin. Her great grandson is Nathan Covais.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Vander Plaat Funeral Home at 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ on May 16, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM with a funeral service at 11:30 AM. Interment to follow at Fair Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Fair Lawn, NJ.
The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Corinne’s name to BrightFocus Foundation, which funds innovative research focused on curing Macular Degeneration.
