Cornelia "Corrie" Sluyter

Corrie Sluyter, age 88, of Oakland, NJ passed away with her loving husband Herman, by her side on November 28, 2024.

Born in Holland, she emigrated to the United States in 1957 with her parents & siblings and resided in Oakland, NJ

She was a graduate from Catholic University in Holland and earned her degree in finance.  She had a long and satisfying career working in Manhattan for 40 years as the Secretary to the President of City Bank.

Corrie was predeceased by her parents Hendrik & Cornelia and her sister Marijke Van Vooren (2021) and her sister-in-law Joan.  She is survived by her husband Herman Sluyter of Oakland, NJ, her brother Hendrik of Las Cruces, NM, his children Cindy Gaechter and her husband John of Hampton, NJ, Richard Klein of Sussex, NJ, James Klein and his wife Veronica of Oak Point, Texas.  Bob Van Vooren and his children Scott Van Vooren and his wife Cathy of Romansville, PA, Danielle Ives and her husband Chris of New Hope, PA and Kelli Harrison and her husband Mike of Lititz, PA as well as many great nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff, NJ on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 @ 10:00am and burial will follow at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newton, PA.
