David Flitcroft, long – time resident of Franklin Lakes, NJ, passed away Friday May 23, 2025, at Valley Hospital.
Dave was born and raised in Paterson, NJ. He was the son of the late Iva and Harold Flitcroft, and was predeceased by his first wife, Natalie. He was a member of faith Community Christian Reformed Church in Wyckoff, NJ.
Dave is survived by his wife Mary Lou, his stepchildren Susan and Dan Martin and David Schuil, Jr., grandchildren Anna and Josh Metz, Sarah and Zach Marques, and great grandson, Samuel Metz.
Dave graduated from the University of Massachusetts School of Agriculture. He was a member of the Passaic County Board of Agriculture and a former New Jersey Fish & Game councilman. For the past 42 years, Dave was the owner/operator of Brook Hollow Farm in Knowlton, NJ where he planted, grew, and nurtured an orchard of apple and peach trees.
Visiting hours for friends and family will be held 4pm – 8pm Thursday May 29, 2025, at Vander Plaat Funeral Home in Wyckoff, NJ. A funeral service will be held at 9:30am Friday, May 30, 2025, at Vander Plaat Funeral Home in Wyckoff, NJ, followed by a burial in the family plot at Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Paterson, NJ.
The family is requesting donations to Passaic County Habitat for Humanity or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
