David D Klopp

David D Klopp, V.M.D. passed away on April 17th, 2025. He was 82 years old.

Dr. Klopp was born July 16,1942 in Jersey City, NJ. Raised in Leonia, he went on to graduate from Franklin & Marshall College (1964) followed by the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation from Penn, David volunteered for Veterinary Corp in the United States Air Force. While a Captain in the USAF he was attached to both a large military base and hospital on the island of Taiwan. His responsibilities included education in public health, sanitation, infectious diseases and advising soldiers and civilians entering the Vietnam War. He oversaw the supervision of base employees handling food and sanitation procedures and was the practicing veterinarian for military personnel.

Dr. Klopp purchased the Wyckoff Animal Clinic in 1972 and practiced veterinary medicine until his retirement in December of 2024. He was a member of the American Veterinary Association, former President of the Northern NJ Veterinary Association, and served on the Wyckoff Board of Health for over 30 years.

Dr. Klopp was a lifelong fan of The NY Jets and season ticket holder for 49 years. He was also a supporter of the arts who enjoyed classical music performance and loved attending the American Ballet Theatre with his wife.

David was married to Judith A Klopp (nee Schrumpf) 51 years before her passing in February 2024. He leaves behind his sons David D Klopp II of Huntington Beach CA, Michael A Klopp of Fort Lee NJ, and best buddy of 20 years, Lucky.
