David McMillin

David McMillin, a devoted father, talented graphic designer, and passionate musician, passed away on February 11, 2025, at the age of 74. Born in Los Angeles, California, David spent most of his life in New Jersey, growing up in Summit before settling in Berkeley Heights, where he and his late wife, Mary Kay, built a warm and loving home for their family.

A creative force, David was a self-employed graphic designer, founding and running several design firms throughout his career. His love for art, photography, and nature was evident in everything he did, from his work to his personal pursuits. He was also a lifelong musician, playing in a number of bands and finding great joy in performing. Music was a lifelong passion filling his home and life with love.

David was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Kay, with whom he shared 29 years of marriage, from 1979 until her passing in 2008, and by his parents, David, and Virginia. He is survived by his two sons, JD and Brett McMillin, who will carry forward his love of creativity and the arts.

A small, private celebration of David’s life will be held by family and his closest friends. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association to support research, advocacy, and assistance for those affected by dementia. David will be remembered for his artistry, his warmth, and the love he shared with family and friends.
