Deanne Dunne Obituary

Deanne J. Dunne, of Ridgewood, NJ passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 29th at the age of 56. Deanne was born in New York City on January 14th, 1966, daughter to Adelaide M. Jason and Ronald E. Jason, both deceased.

Deanne was raised in Monsey, NY, Rockland County, where she lived until attending Fairfield University, from which she earned a BS in Mathematics. She made lasting impressions on the larger university community, as President of Circle K International, and led service projects; as a beloved member of the math department community. She was known as a strong student who balanced hard work with fun.

She went on to enjoy a rewarding career in financial services as a Research Analyst with Sanford C. Bernstein in NYC and Westchester. A dynamic personality, she brought her love for life to all endeavors she pursued, and her enthusiasm was contagious.

In 2001, she married the love of her, life Frank P. Dunne. The couple has two children, Frank “Patrick” (20), a student at Villanova University and Olivia (17), a student at Ridgewood (NJ) High School. Deanne’s extended family includes an adoring sister Patrice Kaldany and brother-in-law Herb Kaldany and a brother, Ronald Jason, Jr., plus numerous nephews (Raymond, Ronny, Timmy), nieces (Caitlin, Julia, Amanda), many loving cousins, uncles, and aunts.

Music proved to be a great passion of Deanne’s, both as a musician and enthusiast. She was a talented guitarist and piano player, and played the organ at her church, St. Boniface of Monsey. Deanne was an ardent fan of several contemporary folk pop singers like Shawn Colvin, Brandi Carlile, the Indigo Girls.

Deanne was equally as passionate about tennis, attending the US Open regularly with her husband, Frank, and working part-time at the Upper Ridgewood Tennis Club. She also participated in USTA leagues, even making it to the No. NJ district championships in 2015. She was also an accomplished cook, and particularly fond of baking…having learned such talents from her mother. She will always be remembered for her Irish soda bread.

Deanne loved to take vacations, especially at beach locations, and had a particular love for Montauk, NY, where her family enjoyed a second home. This was her “happy place”.

Deanne had a quick smile, generous spirit and was fiercely loyal as a friend, maintaining friendships from childhood, college, and within the Ridgewood community – to which she was deeply committed. She was a loved and valued member of that community, serving in a variety of volunteer activities. She was a Girl Scout leader, and Unit Manager for over 10 years; she served as Travell School HSA Treasurer, and Vice-President as well as class parent/coordinator and Directory Chair for 7 years. For several years, she served as the Ben Franklin Middle School HSA President/Vice-President and Directory Chair. From 2018-20, Deanne served as Federated HSA member and participated as a Jamboree cast member, helping to raise scholarship monies for Ridgewood High School.

Deanne was a parishioner at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel (OLMC) in Ridgewood, where she was actively involved as an OLMC volunteer Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD) teacher and OLMC MOM’s member for 5 years.

She was a cherished mom, sister, wife, aunt, friend, and loved by many - especially within the Ridgewood community and will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
