Deborah Grimaldi

Sadly, our beloved Deborah Fawcett Grimaldi, age 74, of Mahwah, New Jersey passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, October 12, 2025. She was peacefully surrounded by her family as she left this earth. Deborah was born August 2, 1951, to Mary and Richard Fawcett in Chester, PA. She spent most of her childhood years living in Oakland, NJ where she met her future husband, David. Deborah and David wed on April 28, 1973. They went on to have two beautiful daughters, Emilie and Sarah. Deborah was cherished wife, mother, sister, friend, and above all a beloved “Noni” to Adelaide, Stella, Mikey, Kinsley, Matty, and Valentina.

Deborah was a long-time member of North Jersey Country Club where she enjoyed playing golf with her “GG’s.”

She is survived by husband, David Grimaldi, daughters Emilie Brinson, Sarah Viterito, treasured son in laws Kyle and Michael, beloved sister Ruth Fawcett, and cherished grandchildren Adelaide, Stella, Mikey, Kinsley, Matty, and Valentina.

She is predeceased by her parents Mary and Richard Fawcett, and sister Nancy Younger. “Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near. Still loved, still missed and very dear.”

The family will receive friends and family on Monday, October 20th from 4pm to 8pm at the Vander Platt Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, New Jersey.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 21st at 10am at the Vander Platt Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center or The Valley Hospital – Palliative Care Department.
