Dennis Khalaf of Midland Park died Saturday, August 24, 2024, with his wife, Lana, and daughter, Dana, at his bedside; he was a month shy of his 80th birthday. Dennis died of Parkinson's Disease complications. Born in Paterson, Dennis lived in Maywood, Wyckoff, and Fair Lawn, New Jersey.
Dennis graduated from Passaic County Vo-Tech and attended Fairleigh Dickinson University. He served in the National Guard.
His first job was at For Men Only, a clothing store in Paterson. Dennis was also co-owner of the Hungry i, a bar located in East Paterson, New Jersey. His later career path took him to food sales at B. Sessler, New York and RC Fine Foods in Hillsborough, New Jersey. Lastly, Dennis worked at Weichert Realtors in Wyckoff.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Lana; his daughter, Dana; and her husband, Andrew Forsyth, of Wyckoff; his sister, Carol, and her husband, Ralph Giannella, of Allendale; his nephew, Mark Giannella, and niece, Marlene Beaver; their families; as well as many cousins. Rocky, his pup, misses his snuggle buddy; and so do his grandpets Eleanor, Ethel, and Bob. Dennis was predeceased by his parents, Bertha Shenloogian Khalaf and Leon Khalaf.
Dennis, aka Rambo, also leaves behind a large number of longtime friends who have many happy memories and stories to share.
Cremation was private, and a Celebration of Life will be held for family and friends this fall.
