Dennis Yackovetsky, 73, of Wyckoff, formerly of Garfield, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife Jackie, his daughter Laura, and his son-in-law Danny. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Paul and Anna Yackovetsky. Dennis was born in Garfield and moved to Wyckoff in 1998. Faith and family were the most important things to him as he was a true believer that Jesus was his savior. Family and tradition were two things that would never be replaced.
Dennis’ day job was an attorney, but his passion was being a musician and loved playing his guitar. His favorite music was the blues and enjoyed jamming with his friends throughout the years. Dennis was also an avid motorcycle rider and loved track days. One of the highlights in his life was when he got to ride his motorcycle on a professional track and Jackie cheered him on. Dennis was also a dedicated Dad from attending dance recitals and many cheerleading competitions, he was always there to support Laura.
Dennis graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University and Western New England Law School. Dennis was a member of the Three Saints Russian Orthodox Church and St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, November 21, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Vander Plaat, Funeral Home 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ 07481. A funeral mass will be 10:00am on Friday, November, 22, 2024, at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 700 Wyckoff Ave., Wyckoff, NJ. Interment will follow mass at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ 07652.
In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Dennis may be made to St. Jude or Operation Smile, two of his favorite charities.
