Dolores P. Ciliotta, age 87 died peacefully at her residence in the care of her loving family. Dolores was born in Perth Amboy, NJ and had been a longtime resident of both Cranford, and Belvidere, NJ before moving to Franklin Lakes in 2021.
For over 40 years Dolores was a registered nurse working primarily at the Elizabeth General Hospital, in Elizabeth, NJ. During that time she was committed to providing care and support to all of the patients who were lucky to have her as their nurse. With tireless energy, commitment and humor, Dolores spent years caring for patients both young and old. In her mind nursing was a vocation, not just a job. The same commitment was witnessed in her relationship with family and friends.
Dolores is survived, her two daughters; Cynthia Rice and her husband, Robert of Franklin Lakes, NJ and Andrea Ciliotta-Rubery and her husband, Dr. Paul Rubery of Honeoye Falls, NY, her six grandchildren, who were the light of her life; Matthew Rice and his wife, Hallie, Hope Deller and her husband, Alfie, Paul Rubery, Aidan Rubery, Katharine and her husband, Robert Picciano and Hugh Rubery; and two great grandchildren: Hudson Rice and Robert Picciano. She is also survived by her sister, Elaine Mariano of Philipsburg, NJ and her brother Anthony of Washington, NJ. Dolores was predeceased by her loving husband of 64 years, Lawrence Ciliotta in 2022 and her granddaughter, Emily Rice in 1997.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 6, 2025 from 2:00 – 6:00 PM at Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, 10:00 AM at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 787 Franklin Lakes Road, Franklin Lakes, NJ 07417. The interment will follow at St. Luke’s Cemetery, Ho Ho Kus, NJ.
