Donna Meyer Tinsley, 68, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, February 7th, after a courageous three-year battle with cancer. She spent her final moments embraced by the same love she so freely gave to others throughout her life.
Born on August 7, 1956, to Bob and Carol Meyer, Donna grew up with a deep love for family and an innate ability to bring joy to those around her. She met the love of her life, Bill Tinsley, and together they built a home filled with warmth, laughter, unwavering devotion and the ‘craziness’ she loved so much throughout their 40 years of marriage.
Donna was a dedicated homemaker, a role she embraced with all her heart. She was a loving mother to her sons, Kyle, Brian and Kevin, and though she endured the heartbreaking loss of Kevin in 2015, she continued to honor his memory through her strength, kindness and unwavering faith.
Donna had an incredible sense of humor and a compassionate spirit, always looking out for those who needed it most. Whether telling stories that left everyone in stitches or making sure everyone was fed, she had a way of making people feel seen, loved, and valued.
She is survived by her beloved husband Bill Tinsley, her sons Kyle and Brian, her father Bob, her siblings Diane (husband Bill), Barbara, Robert (wife Kathy), Billy, her nieces Kristan (husband Drew) and Sara (husband Kirk), her nephews Danny (wife Amanda) and Brandon and her great-nieces and nephews Grace, Gwen, Jack, and David. She was preceded in death by her mother, Carol, and her son, Kevin.
A funeral service to celebrate Donna’s life will be held 10:00 am on Saturday, February 15th at St. Elizabeth’s Church in Wyckoff, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, a cause close to her heart.
Donna’s love, laughter, and selfless spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. She was truly one of a kind and though she is no longer with us, the warmth she brought to the world will never fade.
