Doreen J. Durham

Doreen J. Durham age 86 of Ramsey NJ passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening February 9th, 2021 at her residence. She was born in Pompton Lakes, NJ daughter of the late George and Eleanor of Franklin Lakes, NJ and later moved with her mother to Ramsey, NJ.  Doreen was preceded in death by her husband’s John C. Arrigo and Norman Durham. She enjoyed horseshows, traveling, spending time with her children, grandchildren and great granddaughter.  Her love for the mountains was tremendous, where she had 3 homes.  She was a very kind, loving, caring mother that would do anything for anybody.  She had a huge heart and loved to give people advice on life.  She worked as an x-ray technician in Good Samaritan Hospital and Ridgewood Valley Hospital.  She enjoyed going down to Florida with her husband Norman for the winters and going upstate NY in the summertime where she had many lifelong friends in both places.  She enjoyed country western music and Nashville TN was one of her favorite places to visit, but her heart was up in the Catskill Region, there she felt the BEST! She loved those mountains.  She also enjoyed snowmobiling during the winters when my sister and I were younger.  She belonged to a snowmobile club and also belonged to a horseback riding club in the upstate NY area.  My mom would enjoy the horse shows so much and took great pride when my sister and I entered into the classes. Doreen is survived by her two daughters Jane and Susan, her grandchildren John, Keith, Tony, Jessica and great granddaughter Grace Ann along with her two sons-in-law Keith and Dale. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, (vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff. The funeral service will commence at 12:30 p.m. followed by the interment at Wyckoff Reformed Church Cemetery in Wyckoff.
