Beloved by all who knew her, Doris Rose Vogt (nee Naprstek) of Dumont, NJ passed away peacefully on September 18,2024 after a brief illness. She was 90 years old.
Doris was born in 1933 in North Hackensack (River Edge) to Anna and William Naprstek and a graduate of Park Ridge High school and the Englewood School of Nursing. A longtime registered nurse, she cared for others in hospitals and healthcare settings across Bergen County an NYC.
She raised her family in Dumont alongside her late husband Guy L. Vogt and lived at her Erie Street home until a few short months ago.
Doris was a woman of extraordinary talents! An avid artist, she enjoyed rug-hooking, crocheting, and even found time to teach woodcarving in Englewood Cliffs and Tenafly. Her grandchildren fondly remember crafting knick-knacks at her dining room table over the years and her artistic abilities live on in many family members. Doris also loved her seaside escapes to favorites like Cape Cod and the Jersey Shore.
Doris will be deeply missed by her longtime partner and companion Chuck Musse and children Rene Gallagher (William), Guy L. Vogt II (Laurie), Linda Guerdan, and Janine O’Connor (Morgan). Her long and beautiful life will also be celebrated by her grandchildren, William Gallagher, Evan Gallagher, Rebecca Vogt (Daniel Baran), Caroline Nalavany (Michael), Anne Marie Guerdan (Michael Jakubczak), Morgan J. O’Connor, Sarah O’Connor, and great grandchild Nicholas Nalavany.
In addition to her parents Anna & William and husband Guy, Doris was predeceased in death by her siblings Arthur Naprstek, William Naprstek, Edna Cibula, and Virginia Hahn.
