Richard William Dennen was best known as Duke to all those who knew and loved him. He was the youngest of four children and was lucky to have three big sisters who doted upon him.
Duke had a terrific sense of humor, as well as a strong amount of common sense and “street smarts”. His persuasive personality was an asset in his sales career and independent painting business. He always tried to help his friends and family, especially with job opportunities.
Duke was a talented athlete who exceled in hockey and baseball. In addition, he remained an avid sports fan throughout his life. His favorite teams were the Dallas Cowboys, the Rangers and the Mets. He watched ESPN and cheered his team during its season.
Not only did he love his sisters Kathy, Patti and Maureen, their spouses, and nine nieces and nephews, he truly loved our Mom. After the passing of our father, Duke cared for her for more than 15 years.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to ASPCA or The Ramapo Animal Shelter in honor of Duke’s canine companions.
