Edith (nee Housley) Skudera, 85, of Wyckoff, NJ and formerly of Midland Park, NJ, passed away surrounded by love, on November 29 at Heritage Manor. Edith was born in Jersey City, NJ to the late James and Sally (Werhle) Housley. She and her beloved husband, Robert, celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary in May.
Edith, and her husband were members of the Happy Motoring Club and enjoyed many trips throughout the country in their antique cars. She was also an active member of Midland Park United Methodist Church where she served on the Worship Team, participated in many Bible Studies, and led the annual Cookie Walk. Edith also enjoyed cooking, crafting, reading and cheering on the Green Bay Packers.
In addition to her husband, Robert, Edith is survived by her sister, Janet; her children, Janet, Matthew and his wife Joan, and Karen and her husband, Chant. She was the proud grandmother of Allyssa, Sean, Robert, Carleton, Anne, John and Grayson; and great-grandmother of Weston, Calla, Archer, Charlotte and Walker.
In addition to her parents, Edith was predeceased by siblings, Mary, James and Barbara, and grandson, Brennan.
The family will receive friends from 9:30am until 11:30 am on Saturday, December 6th at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home (www.vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff, NJ. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. at Midland Park United Methodist Church, 269 Godwin Ave., Midland Park, NJ. Interment will take place at George Washington Memorial Park, in Paramus, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Institute of Diabetes and Kidney Diseases or to Midland Park United Methodist Church in memory of Edith.
