Elaine Weiss

Elaine Weiss, age 76, passed away on Friday, May 26, 2023, at Newton Medical Center with her family by her side.  Elaine was born in Paterson, NJ and had lived in Wyckoff and Mahwah before moving to Sussex, NJ 16 years ago. 

Elaine was a graduate of Eastern Christian High School and later Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School.  Although, she did not hold a position in the work force, her greatest achievement in life was caring for her family.

Elaine is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, Robert A. Weiss, Sr. of Sussex, her loving children; Robert A. Weiss, Jr. and his wife, Cyndi of Norwood, NJ; Rebecca Matteson and her husband, David of Sparta, NJ; Rachel Horn and her husband, Jay of Wyckoff, NJ; and Aaron Weiss and his wife, Karly of Ramsey, NJ.  Left to carry on their grandmother’s legacy are her nine grandchildren: Amanda, Ethan, Bailey, Alyssa, Connor, Abigail, Trinity, Madelyn and Molly. 

The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 3, 2023, from 10:00 – 11:00 AM with a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home,  www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ.  The interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park Cemetery, Paramus, NJ.  As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations in Elaine’s memory may be made to Christian Faith Fellowship Church, 3188 Route 94, Franklin, NJ 07416.
