Elizabeth “Betty” Edwards (nee Busto) 87, of Glen Rock, passed away on Monday, March 29, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Betty was born in New York, NY to Francis and Margaret Busto and raised in Rockaway Beach, NY. Betty is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, John and their three children Donna (Kevin) Kearns of Glen Rock, Jack (Carolyn) Edwards of Ramsey and Jim (Eileen) Edwards of Libertyville, IL. She was the proud grandmother of thirteen grandchildren Meghan (Evan), Kevin (Elaine), Patrick (Kate), Ryan (fiancée Amber), Kristen (fiancé Ryan), Jack, Connor, Meredith, Nicholas, Liz, Katie (fiancé Garrison), Luke and Matt and three great grandchildren Lucie, Elio and Graham. Betty married the love of her life John Edwards from Paramus, NJ in 1960 and so began their life together. It was truly a love story, a match made in heaven. After getting married, they resided in Puerto Rico where their daughter Donna was born. They moved back to NY in 1962 where their son Jack was born and finally to Glen Rock in 1963 where their son Jim was born. Betty loved nothing more than spending her summers surrounded by family and friends in Rockaway Beach, always proclaiming that saltwater cures everything. When not in Rockaway, Betty and John loved to entertain their many friends in Glen Rock. Betty enjoyed her last few years with John at Glen Court and cherished her time chatting with her friends on the patio. Betty was a volunteer for 34 years with Valley Hospital Auxiliary’s Kurth Cottage in Ridgewood. Visitation will be held at Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave, Wyckoff, NJ on Saturday, April 3, 2021 from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM. A funeral mass celebrating her life will be at 10:30 AM on Monday, April 5, 2021 at St. Catharine R.C. Church, 905 Maple Ave, Glen Rock, NJ. Interment will follow at St. Luke's Cemetery in Ho-Ho-Kus.
