On Sunday June 5, 2022, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Ellen Leone peacefully passed away at the age of 90 and is now in the presence of Jesus her Lord whom she greatly loved.
Ellen was born in White Haven, PA on March 2, 1932, to Frank and Lydia Mrozinski. While working as a waitress at Split Rock Lodge she met New York City slicker Frank Leone and the two were married on September 11, 1954. Shortly thereafter they moved to Oakland, NJ where they raised their family – two daughters Rosemary and Ann Marie and a son Frank.
Ellen wore many hats in the workforce, but her greatest work and joy was serving her Lord and raising her family. She loved her family and loved teaching children in Sunday school and over the years impacted many young lives.
Ellen is preceded in death by her husband Frank, brother Ronnie, sister Avis and granddaughter Ashanay. She is survived by her three children, Rosemary (Steve) Stahl, Ann Marie (Ed) Scherer and Frank (Laura) Leone as well as her 9 grandchildren Eddie (Susanna) Scherer, Melissa (Steve) Hawthorne, Luke (Dana) Stahl, Jenna (Gabe) Petricone, Lindsay Groenewald, Brian Scherer, David (Courtney) Stahl, Hope Leone, Aaron Leone, 16 great-grandchildren as well as many nephews and nieces. She left an amazing legacy in her family through her love of Jesus and will be greatly missed on this earth by all who knew her.
Family Visitation and Memorial Service will be June 18 at Emergence Church, 930 Riverview Drive Suite 500, Totowa, NJ with Visitation at 10am followed by a service at 11am.
