Ethel Grace Post (née Grimm) was born in Wichita, Kansas on November 28, 1922, and died peacefully on August 28, 2023, at the age of 100. Ethel grew up in River Vale and Ramsey, New Jersey and graduated from Westwood High School. She was married to her husband, Howard Taylor Post, on June 7, 1947. The couple then moved to Hopper Avenue in Waldwick, New Jersey, where they lived for all 75 years of their marriage.
Ethel worked for ten years at Tucker Anthony investment bank in New York City. In their retirement years, Ethel and Howard were the proud owners and growers of the Waldwick flower nursery, Hopper Town Plants, where they worked side by side for 33 years. The middle daughter of the late Raymond and Sarah Grimm, she was predeceased by two older sisters, an older brother, and three younger sisters. A devoted mother and aunt, and adored grandmother, Ethel (known to many as Granny) lost her beloved husband Howard on July 4, 2022.
She is survived by three children, Helen Hughes, her husband Joseph, Howard T. Post, Jr., his wife Paulette, and John T. Post; her eight grandchildren and their spouses, Robert and Michael, Kristen and Brian, Christopher and Tesha, Brian and Inthasone, Julia and Shane, Sara, Garrett, and Matthew; and seven great grandchildren. Ethel will be buried at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus, NJ. Ethel’s parting words, for all who knew her: Be Happy!
