Fogeline Alice Maas (nee Hartensveld) left this life to live eternally with her Lord and Savior on January 24, 2025, at the age of 105. Fogeline was the beloved wife of Albert, who passed away in 2003. Known as either Foge or Lynn to most people, she was raised in Fair Lawn and lived most of her life in Prospect Park before moving to Midland Park and later Wyckoff.
Fogeline was a devoted lifelong member of Faith Community Christian Reformed Church in Wyckoff, formerly known as Fourth Christian Reformed Church of Paterson. She undoubtedly is the longest serving member in the history of the church. She was a very active member of the church and was always willing to serve. One of her greatest joys was singing in the church choir, something she did for over 50 years. She was often featured as a soloist. Fogeline also volunteered at the Corner Closet Thrift Shop for nearly 30 years, which supported Eastern Christian Schools.
Fogeline’s greatest concern was always for the wellbeing of her family. When she was 94, she wrote “The Lord has let me live so long so I can keep praying for my children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.”
Fogeline was the devoted mother of Alice Faasse of Cape Coral, Florida, Ruth Mulder (Robert) of Midland Park, Agnes Crean (Dennis) of Midland Park, and Albert Jr. (Donna) of Hardeeville, South Carolina. She was predeceased by her son-in-law, Henry Faasse and her beloved sisters, Hester Schuurman and Gertrude Troast. She also leaves behind 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Mimi, as she was known to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was loved and adored by her entire family.
The Maas family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, from 3:00 – 6:00 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2025, 10:30 AM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Fair Lawn Memorial Cemetery, Fair Lawn, NJ.
