Francis Joseph Phillips, 86, of Franklin Lakes, New Jersey, passed away on January 7, 2026
Francis was born on March 9, 1939, in Rutland, Vermont, to Mary (Strainer) and Stanley
Phillips. He was a kind and generous man who helped many people throughout his life. He was
an active member of the Lions Club in both Franklin Lakes and Northvale and loved
volunteering his time at Lions Club events. His dedication to service and community was a true
reflection of who he was.
He and his beloved wife, Jeanne, built a very successful business from the ground up. Their
legacy lives on as Jeanne and their three children—Patricia, John, and Michael—continue to
operate Phillips Precision Medicraft, the company Francis and Jeanne founded over 50 years
ago.
Francis is survived by his wife, Jeanne (Vibert) Phillips; his daughter, Patricia Gonzalez, and
her fiancé, Michael Soltis; his son John Phillips and wife Angela; and his youngest son
Michael Phillips and wife Cynthia. He is also survived by his seven cherished grandchildren:
Steven, David, Chloe, Jenna, Vanessa, Dallas, and Dylan. Francis is further survived by his
brother and sister-in-law William and Elizabeth Phillips, his sister and brother-in-law Mary
and Lou Rotella, and his brother Kenneth Phillips.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary (Strainer) and Stanley Phillips; his brother,
Frederick Phillips; and his sisters-in-law, Betty Phillips and Barbara Phillips.
Visitation will be held at Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ, on
Monday January 12, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Most Blessed
Sacrament Church, 787 Franklin Lakes Road, Franklin Lakes, NJ, on Tuesday January 13 at 10:00
a.m.
