Fred was born on February 25, 1943, and lived in Hawthorne, NJ, graduating 1960. He went to Fairleigh Dickinson graduating with a BSEE degree and NYU graduating with a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked at Bendix and twenty-nine years at Mosler, Wayne, NJ. He was the beloved husband for 52 years to Marion (Graafsma) Benjamin, loving father to Melissa (Benjamin) Peters & Susan Benjamin, future father-in-law to Ben Brower, adored and cherished grandfather to JC Nasuti, Taylor, Benjamin, and Derick Peters. He will be missed by his in-laws, Neal & Janet Graafsma, Paul & PJ (Pamela Jean) Graafsma, Frank & Susan Graafsma and William & Debbye Graafsma. He also is survived by Aunt Marion (Pikaard) DeMeester, Cousin Robert Vermeulen, many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Fred & Elizabeth (Vermeulen) Benjamin, inlaws, William & Nellie (Pikaard) Graafsma, Uncle Leonard & Marjorie Pikaard, his Aunt Lee Lawerence and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Fred was ushered into heaven to be with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, on Friday, March 10, 2023. He will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
