In Loving Memory of Frederica Garvey "Fritzi"

Frederica Garvey "Fritzi," beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully in the early morning of March 31, 2025. Born on November 24, 1936, in Brooklyn, NY, Fritzi lived a life full of love, dedication, and cherished memories.

After her time in Brooklyn, she resided in Nutley, NJ before moving to Wayne, NJ in 1979, where she built a warm and welcoming home for her family. She was the last of the "Fives Generation," now reunited with her dear brothers and sister—Ken, Jack, Don, Artie, and Paula.

Fritzi’s legacy lives on through her four children, Carin, Steven, Ellen, and Jay, along with her devoted daughter-in-law Christine. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Conner and Marlena Spies, Miles La Nicca, and Jillian, Erin, Tyler, and Devin Garvey.

Throughout her career, Fritzi worked with dedication at Prudential, where she made lasting contributions and friendships. Beyond her work, she found joy in the love of her family, creating lasting bonds and treasured moments.

Fritzi will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, but her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, April 5th from 10am to 11am at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ 07481. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her memory to St. Jude Hospital.
