Glenn Veltman Obituary

Our beloved father, Glenn G. Veltman, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2023 at the age of 67.

Glenn was born on May 13, 1956 to John and Jane Veltman in Jersey City, New Jersey.
He grew up in Hoboken and later moved to Weehawken at the age of 12. After graduating from Stevens Academy in Hoboken in 1973, he went on to obtain a Business Degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Before retiring to Naples, Florida, Glenn worked for over 35 years in the Communications field with Western Union and AT&T. Prior to that, he worked in sales for General Electric.

Glenn loved playing golf and spending weekends with his family in the Pocono Mountains. He was a devoted father, loved his children dearly, and felt they were his greatest accomplishment.  Glenn was a devout New York Mets fan. He enjoyed coaching his children’s athletic teams and watching his favorite football team, The New York Giants.  Glenn enjoyed playing the piano and could recite every line from “The Honeymooners.”

As a man of faith, Glenn volunteered for many years at Old Paramus Reformed Church in Ridgewood, New Jersey. He served as a deacon on the Consistory and also helped to facilitate the Homeless Shelter program.

Glenn was preceded in death by his father John Bernard Veltman, his mother Jane Goodwin (Conlin) Veltman, and his brother J. Barry Veltman.

He leaves behind his children, Barry J. Veltman, Katie Ellen Veltman, and her fiance Paul Carter; his Partner-In-Life Cathleen Veltman, his Mother-In-Law Kathleen Bauer, and Sister-In-Law Laura Geberth; his niece Cheryl Veltman, nephew Glenn Veltman along with his wife Miriam and their children John and Bethany, and his Sister-In-Law Lorraine Herrmann. Glenn leaves behind many friends that celebrated good times and created wonderful memories with him.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 30 10:00am at Old Paramus Reformed Church, 660 E. Glen Avenue, Ridgewood, NJ  07452.  Entombment will follow at Garden of Memories in Township of Washington, NJ.
