Glenn Wilder Obituary

Glenn A. Wilder, of Midland Park, NJ, went home to be with his Savior on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at the age of 64. Born in New York, NY, Glenn was a resident of Midland Park for the past 36 years.  He was a Project Manager at Amgen Inc. Glenn's first love and priority in life was God and his family. He was a devoted servant to the Lord and others, at Hawthorne Gospel Church, which he considered his second home.

Glenn met his wife Mickey in 1975 at Taylor University in Indiana. They married on June 7, 1980 and went on to have three beautiful daughters. In addition to being a dedicated and loving husband and father, Glenn loved cars, riding his motorcycle, and living an active lifestyle of hiking and biking with his wife.  He was a member of the Ramapo Motorcycle Club and enjoyed his Sunday afternoon rides with the club members.

He was very involved in his church, and alongside his wife, volunteered at the church's Gospel Cafe for many years. Glenn was also a dedicated volunteer for Desire 4 Hope, a group of men and women who bring the hope of Jesus to those in darkness through fellowship and food. He also spent years as a volunteer for Star 99.1, a contemporary Christian music radio station.

Glenn was a very active volunteer for the CHD Coalition, in which his wife is the President. The CHD Coalition is a non-profit organization devoted to improving the quality of life for children and adults affected by congenital heart defects. He supported his wife and the Coalition by generously volunteering his time and talents at all events hosted by the organization.

Glenn is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 41 years Michelle “Mickey” Wilder, whom he affectionately referred to as “The Bride”; three cherished daughters: Megan L. Wilder, Katie J. Wagner, her husband Robert; Lexie R. Wilder; his mother-in-law Irene P. Eckert, and sister Sharon Wilder. He also leaves behind his "fur babies" who he adored.

Glenn will be most remembered by all those who loved him for his caring heart, his ability to make people laugh, and his dedication and passion for God and his family.  A celebration of Glenn’s life will be held on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at 2 p.m.at the Hawthorne Gospel Church, 2000 State Route 208, Hawthorne, New Jersey 07506. In remembrance of Glenn's life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to the CHD Coalition, 45 Carey Ave., Suite 250 #1, Butler, New Jersey 07405.
