Helen V. Magee passed away peacefully on August 31, 2021. She was born in 1926 in Manhattan, NY, the fourth of five children. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Michael F. Magee, her son, Stephen P. Magee, her parents, Patrick and Margaret Cotter, her siblings: Mary, John and Margaret. She is survived by her sister, Josephine O’Donohue and loving children: Jane O’Brien (James), Michael Magee (Christine) and Maryellen Rehm. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren: Christopher, Suzanne, Michael, Erin, Jennifer, Timothy, Brian, Gregory and Katie and 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Helen was originally raised in the Vinegar Hill section of Manhattan, where she was a member of Annunciation Parish and met her husband, Michael. They went on to raise their four children in the Highbridge and Fordham sections of the Bronx. She spent many happy years towards the end of her life in Woodlawn, NY, where she volunteered doing building security with her sister, Jo. Helen was a loving and caring person and a devout Catholic, attending daily mass through rain, sleet, or snow. Her family appreciates the care she received in her final months at Mill Gardens. In lieu of flowers, a donation to a charity of choice would be appreciated.
