Helen Quinn, 95, passed quietly on the night of June 13th after spending the week with her loving children and grandchildren.
Helen was the beloved wife of the late Robert Quinn. Helen and Rob met in their college years, Helen attending Trinity, and Robert, Georgetown law.
Helen and Robert shared 69 wonderful years together, raising their children, traveling, and teaching.
Helen and Rob loved their children Paula and Brian deeply, so too their grandchildren Sara, Conor, daughter-in-law Maria, and her newest granddaughter-in-law Kate, and Paula’s partner Hans Dieter. Helen eagerly awaited the birth of Conor and Kate’s son, her first great-grandson expected in a few short weeks.
Helen was born in Brockton, Massachusetts. Her Parents Edward and Angelina Duffy are warmly remembered and hold a special place in her families’ hearts, so too her late Sister Ann, and brother Kevin.
Helen and Rob spent their earliest years living in Manhattan before moving to Franklin Lakes, and later Wyckoff.
Helen taught second grade for many years at Ramsey’s Tisdale Elementary School. She loved her students dearly, and cherished her years at the head of the class.
Visitation will be held at the Vander Platt Funeral Home on Thursday June 18th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by an 11:30a.m. memorial mass at St. Elizabeth’s Church in Wyckoff, and internment at Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah, NJ.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Helen’s memory to St. Jude’s Research Hospital.
