Ishani Bhatt

Ishani G. Bhatt, age 77 who lived in NY and in later years in NJ and Florida, died peacefully on Monday morning September 18 2023, at Woodcliff Lake Health and Rehabilitation Center. Her family was with her.

Born in Mehmadabad Gujarat on May 4, 1946, she was the daughter of the Late Shri Kanaiyalal Shelat and Late Shrimati Jayaben Thaker.
She received her master’s degree in economics from Gujarat University.

Ishani married Ghanshyam in 1967 and immigrated to England in 1969. Eventually both she and her husband made their way and settled in the United States. She enrolled in courses at Yale University and continued taking advanced course work in Economics throughout her life. She enjoyed working outside the home throughout her life and in later years she was an exemplar employee for JC Penney’s. She was also a cherished and devoted wife, mother, sister, daughter, and friend.

She is survived by her husband, Ghanshyam M. Bhatt; daughter Adeeti, married to Nikhil Joshi of Sarasota Florida and son Advay, married to Shivani Bhatt of Upper Saddle River New Jersey. She was adored by her three grandchildren Arjun, Neelam, and Rohan. She has two sisters, Bharti Dave from Fullerton, CA and Meena Bhatt from Ahmedabad, Gujarat India.

Funeral Services 9:30am Wednesday September 20th, to be held at Vander Plaat Funeral Home, Wyckoff, NJ.  Cremation services to follow at East Ridgelawn Crematory 255 Main Ave. Clifton, NJ.
