James Baxter

James (Jim) Edward Baxter, 83 years old, died peacefully in his sleep on May 6th, 2026.

​Jim was born May 28th, 1942, in Brooklyn, New York, to Joseph and Estell Baxter( nee Wolf)

​Jim was a graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy, informally known as Kings Point College, and served in the Naval Reserves. He was a test engineer on the First 747 and a pilot. He went on to work for Pan American Airlines and then served as Vice President of North America for Emirates Airlines.

​Jim is survived by his wife Judy Baxter (nee Boucher), 3 children, Daniel and his wife Crystal, Kaitlin Joyce and her husband James, Megan DeSantis and her husband David 7 grandchildren Chloe, Maeve, Darcy, Cormac, Jack, Patrick, Luke, and brothers Joe Baxter and wife Patricia, Rick Baxter and wife Lisa. 

​A Funeral Mass will be held on May 20th at 11 am at St Elizabeth’s Roman Catholic Church, Wyckoff, NJ.
